the giant asian hornet by aden

The hunting hornets by aden Introduction Hornets are found all around the world. Hornets are social insects, so they work together. They also are invertebrates and they have been around since the dinosaurs.

 Habitat
Hornets have suspended hives so that means they live above the ground. They have to chew on wood and then spit out the wood to make the hive shape so the hornets can live and protect the hive.

 Freaky features
The giant hornet has a couple of features, they have a long sing so they have more length to sting their prey or enemies multiple times. They fly at different speeds at different times. It has a wingspan of 3 inches. The giant asian hornet has a orange head with brown antennae. Their abdomen is covered with dark-brown and yellowish-orange bands. The giant asian hornet has 0.25-inches-long stinger that is used to inject venom into their food or predators body body.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                    Food and sleep These hornets eat nectar from flowers and flowering plants so they eat just like a honey bee. Hornets don't sleep at night because they are always active during the day and the night so their half nocturnal, half diurnal.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                 Distance and speed The giant Asian hornet or Vespa Mandarinia, can grow to be thumb-sized. It is able of flying at speeds of up to 25 mph and a distance of 50 miles. Their stingers carry forgein and protein. This gives them energy to fly faster.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                  Predator Mice and rats, skunks, raccoons, weasels, badgers and wolverines are all predators to the giant asian hornet nest because they want to eat the larvae, eggs and pupa in side. The queen hornet The                                                                                                                                                                      queen hornet has to wait until the other hornets make they hive so she can lay eggs to make more hornets and to let a new queen take her place when she dies.
